Laying the foundation of Pilates.
This training focuses on the placement of the pelvic that dictates the alignment of the spine. When you have a strong deep core your spine will elongate, it will have natural traction, good posture, you will age well, you will avoid or delay degeneration of the spine and hopefully you will exercise without injuries.
The Wall is an exercise you can do anywhere and anytime you need to realign your body. It is especially good to practice if you’ve been hunched over your desk or if traveling to reestablish your connection to your center, relax your shoulders and correct poor posture. This series includes a squat against the wall to strengthen the legs–Joe often had his clients prepare for ski season by holding the squat.
Pilates Mat with Props
This class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. Classes will blend the Classical Pilates Method with exercise variations and by using props and light weights.   Modifications are suggested for beginners or for those with physical limitations.  Pilates mat is a challenging yet safe method to sculpt your body and to feel increased agility in your every day movements.
Partner Pilates
Partner up and get ready for a fun class. Karen leads you through a mat series that uses your partner’s body weight and assistance to make the exercises deeper at times while at others your partner will help you stretch or build your balance and proprioception. Enjoy!
The Standing Arm Weight series does more than give you sculpted arms, it’s really all about creating a lifted, beautiful posture that will instantly make you feel taller, thinner and more relaxed. You’ll work your bottom with killer lunges, sculpt your arms, lengthen your spine and finish with a nice long neck and open chest. Karen’s fantastic cues will help you understand why the proper alignment in these exercises can create immediate change in your body.
Standing and Mat workout
Using 1-2 pound arm weights, Karen begins with a standing series to improve posture and tone the entire upper body from your back to your forearms. She moves on to the mat adding weights here and there for extra strength and challenge. This is the type of class that creates real change in the body, go for it and you’ll notice a difference in how you look and feel.
Barre fitness is a hybrid workout class - combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, and strength training. The class end on the mat as you target the core, before a inspired cool-down.
